Fiona Griffiths, The Independent, 'This five-star boutique guesthouse sits on the estuary of the River Kent offering stylish, comfortable accommodation enhanced by a breathtaking panorama, across the Kent Estuary towards the Lakeland Fells.' This epitomises the laid-back feel of Number 43.' Nigel Tidsall, The Telegraph, 'Arnside sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that includes Silverdale, where Elizabeth Gaskell came to holiday, and Arnside Knott, a popular walking spot owned by the National Trust. It is a village where life still feels bewitchingly close to nature, alarms ring a warning when the tide comes rushing in, and two-carriage trains regularly rattle their way across the water on a misty viaduct.' Paul Croughton, Sunday Times, 'The village of Arnside is unusually calm, even for Cumbria, and Number 43’s five individually turned-out rooms, do nothing to jar you from your reverie. Our favorite is suite two, with a double-ended bath under a large feature window where you can spot birds, bathing or otherwise, out on the estuary.' Stephen McClarence, The Observer, 'I take a train around the Bay to stay at Number 43, a luxurious boutique guest house that runs to cafeteria’s of coffee in the bedrooms. It's in Arnside, a smart village where I spend my morning walking a blissfully quiet shoreline patrolled by swans and herons.'
